This is one of the largest libraries in the prefecture, with 220,000 volumes. The library includes a reading room with 130,000 volumes, a special reference room with reference materials for research, and a talking room.
Visitors also can use a lending service that has a common library card for this facility as well as the northern annex inside North Community Center ISTA Habataki; the southern annex inside the South Community Center Seseragi, the Central Public Hall Reading Room, and the Shikanodai District Public Hall Reading Room. - Library card application instructions

Bring the books you wish to borrow and your library card to the counter. One person may borrow up to five books for two weeks. - Returning the books

This is an arts and culture educational facility. It can be used for a variety of learning activities, including training, conferences, creating, or exhibitions. The facility has five tennis courts with artificial grass and sand, and lighting for night time use. The jungle gym playground course utilizes the topography of Ikoma Sanrokukoen Park and is one full hectare. The entire course has 30 stations, is 800 meters long, and requires about an hour to go through. Each of the stations is modeled after an Ikoma folk tale. Visitors can learn about local culture, legends, and history while getting a workout.

This park has the city’s largest gymnasium. In addition to the arena, there are a martial arts facility and multipurpose rooms. The athletic field has lighting for night time use, and it is the site of the Ikoma Dondoko Festival. Tennis courts with artificial grass and sand were installed in March 2003. There is also a 50-meter swimming pool with seven lanes, and a children’s pool.

Household waste water is conveyed by sewage pipes and is collected at the Treatment Plant, where it is broken up into organic matter using microorganisms. The purified supernatant water is converted into safe treated water and returned to the river.
There are two sewage treatment plants in the city: the Tatsutagawa Sewage Treatment Plant and the Yamadagawa Sewage Treatment Plant.

Eco Park 21 is a facility for the hygienic and efficient treatment of human excreta, capable of treating 80 kiloliters of wastes and septic tank sludge a day. It also fulfills the needs of a resource recycling society.
The sludge created by the treatment process and raw garbage from department stores and supermarkets are combined, producing methane gas, which is used to generate electricity. When the sludge fermentation is completed, it is converted to fertilizer.

For hygienic and efficient treatment of refuse, the Refuse Incineration Center is equipped with two incinerators capable of burning 110 tons of garbage in a day. In 2001, a high-level treatment facility was completed for exhaust gas and fly ash to conform to the new standards for dioxin concentration. The surplus heat from the combustion gas is recovered and is used for smoke prevention and as a heat supply for the Ikoma Sanrokukoen Park facilities.

The Cleaning Relay Center is a transfer facility with modern equipment that is used as the point of contact for the separated functions of garbage collection and transport. The refuse collected by the garbage trucks and that brought directly by the local residents is placed in large containers here and sent to the Refuse Incineration Center.
The Center also accepts ordinary household refuse from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.
